Science Weekend at the Geopark
As part of theScience Odyssey being held across Canada, from 4 to 19 May, 4 organizations in the region will host educational workshops and games at the UNESCO Global Geopark pavilion in Percé.
Join the adventure! The Science Odyssey is Canada's largest science and technology festival, with more than 1000 activities for explorers of all ages.
Here is the programming proposed by the Geopark:
Saturday the 11 may
From 11h, the Museum of Gaspésie present "The pirate of the museum on the mop". Through a great historical adventure, children will discover treasures to keep!
At 13h, the Gaspésie Intermunicipal Waste Treatment Board will show us that it is important and fun to properly sort waste with the activity. "Our residual materials, more than waste".
Sunday the 12 may
Theme: species at risk.
At 11h, an educational game will help kids understand why species are at risk and the importance of protecting them, with Contact Environment. Special attention will be paid to the bats of the Geopark.
At 13h, guide and storyteller Tim Adams will come to tell Mi'kmaq legends associated with these species.
As a bonus Before each activity, the Geopark will present a capsule on the Percé fossils.
